Overview
A full-stack on-demand services management system built for a platform like Mahir, designed to connect customers with verified service providers for home maintenance, cleaning, electrical work, plumbing, and more. The system acts as a central service marketplace dashboard + booking engine.
How We Built It
This project was developed using a Node.js-based backend architecture deployed on Railway, focused on handling real-world service operations at scale.
- Built a service marketplace system for booking home and technical services
- Designed a structured database flow for users, technicians, and service requests
- Implemented booking logic system (request → assign technician → completion tracking)
- Created a role-based system separating admin, customer, and service provider access
- Built APIs for service listings, bookings, and status updates
- Deployed on Railway cloud platform for fast hosting and continuous deployment
- Structured backend to be scalable for multi-city / multi-service expansion
Key Features
- On-demand service booking system (home repair, cleaning, etc.)
- Technician/service provider management module
- Request lifecycle tracking (pending → assigned → completed)
- Admin-level control for managing users and services
- API-driven architecture ready for mobile or web frontend integration
- Cloud deployment with real-time availability
What We Achieved
- Built a working service marketplace MVP system from scratch
- Digitized a traditionally offline workflow (finding technicians → booking → service execution)
- Created a foundation for a multi-service SaaS platform like Urban Company style systems
- Enabled future scaling for multiple cities, vendors, and service categories
- Demonstrated full-stack capability: backend logic + system design + deployment
Real Talk
This kind of system is not just “an app backend.”
It’s basically:
- Uber-style logic, but for home services
- Matching system + booking flow + admin control all together
The real value here is the workflow automation — turning messy offline service coordination into a structured digital system that can scale into a serious product.
